On September 26th, 40-44 Cruiser rider Hank Grimmick (far right)crashed, and crashed hard. Diagnosis, a 5” diagonal fracture in his right femur, requiring a 14” titanium rod and 3 screws. 3 weeks later, his femur split, Hank will go in for another surgery to have the bone wrapped in stainless steel wire.
Hank is a big supporter of DK at his home track in Cape Coral Florida, so we wish the best and a speedy recovery. The doctor is telling him twelve months, but he is hoping to be back on the track in six. Good luck buddy!
So does a snapped femur keep Hank at home? Nope, he still goes out there to watch the races and hang out at clinics. He even decked out his walker with stickers and a number plate.
