All of us are “pumped” to have this little gem right here so close to home. I would have to say that this is one of the most; well maintained and all around dialed pump tracks that I have ever ridden. The dream of it all was brought to life by none other than DK’s very own Jered Raflik.
For those of you who don’t know, Jered has been a big part of the DK family for the past 23 years. I know that growing up he inspired me personally to excel as a racer and as a person. I am definitely psyched to have had Jered guide me through the sport of BMX from a young age. Not to mention, Jered is a former professional BMX Racer (trust me, it shows). He shreds his backyard like he owns it...
The backyard track started out as a fun. After many late nights, weekends, and a bit of help from local trail experts Marc Stephens and Shane Gambill, the back yard has molded into a perfect set up that is fun for all ages and skill levels.
The pump track is fully connected allowing you to go for the ultimate test and try and beat the “no pedal lap count” record. I think we are up to 19 laps with no pedals. The record includes the mandatory rule that you must jump the “Daddy Doubles” at least one of your laps. The Daddy Doubles are an 8 pack of bigger jumps built for Jered and his group of friend that bring there kids out for a shred session. The doubles are no joke and I have personally seen a few very talented riders bite it in that section, so don’t think your out for a Sunday ride if Jered invites you out for a backyard session. Here are a few photos of Jered killing his backyard spot. Rydaz!!
