BK BACK!!!

Hey guys!

I’m back from Germany and Denmark. I was invited to Hamburg thanks to MTV/T-mobile for their extreme playgrounds mini ramp event last weekend. The head to head format didn’t lend itself to my luck this time but I still did some tricks i’ve never done in a contest and got sideways once or twice. Good times! The whole event made for a fun weekend but who wants to go all the way to Europe (12 hours of traveling) for must one weekend? Not Osato and I, so we made a trip out of it by coming a week early and going to Copenhagen, Denmark. Thanks to Neils from Simple, Peter Louv, all the Copenhagen locals, good skateparks, my video camera and amazing street spots our trip couldn’t have been better. I have read the Denmark is considered one of the happiest nations on earth. is it a coincidence then that I saw “DK” everywhere I turned? Perhaps! It sure made me happy. Check out a few pics from the trip!

DK Portland wrap up

The boys put on a great showing in Portland. Brian Hunt, Anthony Watkinson, Charlie Bowers, and Drew Bezanson all rode awesome in the PDX. Hunt was smiling all weekend, despite the fact that he had a broken jaw and his mouth was wired shut. It was rad to see DK shirts all weekend long, we were certainly a presence in Oregon. The boys stayed a couple extra days to shoot and film at some local parks. We even had the chance to ride the legendary Burnside. Congrats on a great weekend boys and we will see you in Salt Lake City! Drew Bezanson planting feet under the Burnside Bridge. B Hunt..whipping with  a wired jaw. The boys. Welcome to the team!!!!!!

DK is pleased to announce the latest addition to our professional team. Drew Bezanson from Truro, Nova Scotia is the newest member of Team DK. Drew also rides for DK’s Canadian distributor-Ryder Distribution. John@ Ryder was the first to hip us to Drew a few years back. Bezanson has been spending most of his summer at Woodward camp riding with DK pros Anthony Watkinson and Brian Hunt. Not to mention  he had the opportunity to visit DK/System Cycle and ride Momentum, our indoor bike park.  An all around rider. Bezanson rides park and street and is currently ranked 11th in overall AST Dew Tour standings. He will be rocking DK colors on his new BK frame this weekend at the Portland stop of the Dew Tour. We are very excited to have him a part of Team DK. Welcome Drew!!!    Jeff Brockmeyer pics. Thanks Jeff!

BK across the pond again!

Hey Ya’ll!Just checking in from Chicago as I sit in my bed sick with a good  ol’ cold. It looks like all my travels got the best of me after leaving Lake Owen last weekend which was all in all an awesome time! I am hanging out at home this week until I leave for Europe on Sunday. There I will be competing in a Mini Ramp contest put on by T-mobile. I will also be spending some time prior to that in Denmark with Dave Osato. We plan on riding street and parks around and in Copenhagen for a few days before the contest. Should be awesome!Speaking of Europe, I got an email from my friend François Debroux from Belgium today! François is almost single handedly responsible for DK having had an awesome time while in Brussels on the Megatour. He’s a sales manager for a company called ERDAS they produce software products aimed at Accessing, Managing, processing and sharing geo-information. I know thats alot to swallow but basically you can thank guys like him every time you use a map, GPS, gas, water, electric and 100 other things in your daily life. Oh yeah and he still shreds! Here is a photo of him riding in Vancouver recently (he travels alot for work and family). And another picture of his boys age 5 and 7 both rocking DK completes! Thanks again Francois for an awesome time and keep in touch! More soon from Europe. I ordered a new digi camera online today so expect even better pics to be posted here when I get back from my trip!Love,Brian

Man down!

Our boy Brian Hunt went down hard yesterday. He may or may not have broken his jaw and he lost a couple teeth but he wants everyone to know that his face is ok and he’s still cute. Get well soon Brian.   Heres a couple flicks from B Hunt in better times.  Brian at the Cleveland Dew tour on the big screen! He loves Ryan Sheckler as well.
Big bad Brian in Devon, England a few weeks back at Empire of Dirt.

sometimes one word isn’t enough

DK Team Manager Zack “Catfish” Yankush has an interview up on RideBMX that is definitely worth the read.

The streets are talking and Catfish is listening.

Brett Walker still has a mustache

Catfish was in town last week hanging out with both Brett Walker and Mike Dies. The boys rode bikes and even went snorkeling in San Diego. The highlight was definitely swimming with sea lions. Then it was off to the OC for some Levis demos. Catfish ran his mouth and Brett went bonkers on the ramps. Walker is gearing up for a 10 week nationwide college tour with Ryan Jordan.  Should be a blast.  Brett Walker, Mike Dies, and Catfish back from the snorkle adventure.  Brett Walker grabbing the seat at a shopping mall in Socal.

Nina is everywhere!

Heyo!Congrats BK on X games that course looked sick!!!!!!!!! Holy smith drop..dangggg!!!!! Summer has been a blast!  I’ve been roadtripping with some gal bike riders from colorado the last few days all over ohio, pa and now NYC to ride street and check out the “king of new york” comp.  The contest so far has been awesome everyone’s been going off; hopefully our presence will one day inspire a “queen of ny” ha!  Here are some pictures from the trip so far: here’s me following nadia at a dirt spot in columbus yeah girl train!ha   here’s jess at the flow  slid some old and new ledges up at the flow, i hadn’t been there in almost a year so these were pretty fun
on our way out to king of ny, nadia and i met up with ray himself (ray’s mtb park) and bobby D for my first time downhill mountain biking sesh at 7 springs in PA. I wish we would’ve gotten some action shots, but man my arms are still sore from hangin on! We basically got in about 15-20 runs, taking our bikes up the ski lift, then bombing down the mountain hitting 20-30ft tables at the end..holy air time! Scary, but awesome.
then directly from there, met up with jess and we made it to king of ny at the owls head park in bklyn, ny the next morning where we took a few rebel runs during the “king of  ny” 8-)stoked on some hips and tall quarters  again:

today is part 2 of the comp and still more pics to come…thanks for readin :) lets shred!
