watkinson be travellin!

Watkinson sent us an update of what he’s been up to here’s what he has to say.

“Just checking in from a couple weeks of traveling around the U.K.! I went up to Newcastle for a car drifting event with Rockstar because they had a car in the race and there was a little street course there, was pretty fun and the drifting was so crazy. After Newcastle I went home for a night and packed my bags again and went down to Bournemouth for a couple weeks where I have been riding with some friends down here and some little shredders. Last weekend me and couple friends went to the Southsea Skatepark for another jam met up with Webby and had some fun. I fell on the spine doing a slow bus driver and messed up my back but still had a rad time. This weekend I was at yet another jam but this time was in Bournemouth skatepark called Kings, again was really fun and good weather. Next weekend is another jam at a new park opening that we went to look at last week at Dorchester, it looks amazing cant wait to ride it! I will do another update on that next week but to hold you over here are some pictures of me with some friends!”

Drew update!

Quick little update. Hey Everyone. A week ago Brian Hunt and I returned from an amazing, amazing trip in Colombia. I would like to give a huge shout out to everyone who made the trip possible. Community BMX, Idenex, DK, and all the Colombian locals. There is a lot of misconceptions about Colombia that should not be. Colombia is a very beautiful place, all the locals were beyond nice and were just psyched that we came to there country. The hospitality was phenomenal and we made tons of great new friends. Since then I have just been hanging out at Ryder distribution in the Toronto area. Last weekend went up to Niagara falls area for the second annual 4/19  jam with the bmxfu crew. Tons of people came out and everyone shredded all day. It was a super sick day, thanks you those dudes for putting everything together. Hope everyone is enjoying the warm weather and shredding outside after a long winter. Couple photo’s from the other day. Hope all is well, God Bless. Drew B

There is also a rad edit up from Drews trip south. Check that out right here:

Been around the world…

Hi everybody. I’ve been nonstop for the last few weeks and thought I would show you what I have been up to.

I started this trip in Joplin, Mo for the Jomo Pro contest. Watched this little guy walk away with third place in Pro.Go Maddog go.  From Joplin I drove straight back to Ohio to catch a flight to here:

Paris, France. We didn’t get robbed this time and it was actually awesome. I was in France for the Riviera Ninja Spin flatland contest.  It was such a good time not to mention it was held in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

The guys in France convinced me to enter the contest and I ended up with 5th place! I was stoked. Made the 10 hour drive back from Monaco to France only to catch a flight to California for more insanity.I had to film some stuff with Fuel TV, hit up BMX Plus!, see the ocean, ride, and do a Levis demo. BK was there with me and it was pretty wild. You can read more about that event via BK’s blog here.

Olympic Skier Jonnie Mosely, Me, Playboy Playmate Kendra Wilkinson, BK, and Wee-Man. What a crew! My last day in Cali I got invited to ride on “Built to Shred” Fuel TVs wild show where Jeff King builds insane obstacles to ride and skate on. It was held on an Army Base and was insane. I’ll post when the show airs.

Me, Mankinds Christian Rigal, Daniel Dhers, and Jeff King.I have a whole 14 hours in Ohio before I fly to Memphis to meet up with the crew of Roadfools. BK and Brett Walker will be on the trip and I’ll be updating from the road. Have a great week!   XOCatfish Edit- You can also check out an episode of “Dropping in” on Ride BMX right here.

Good morning Colombia.

Brian Hunt and Drew Bezanson are still down south. Here is another update: Hey there, Another sweet couple days in Colombia and I dont even know where to begin with the stories. Before we left on our voyage across Colombia we went and did this tv show which I guess is equivalant to Good Morning America in the states. I only know a little bit of spanish and Ive never had a problem with tv stuff in the states. It was seriously so confusing and difficult but I think we did alright. If anything it made for a good laugh. Then we jetted off to Medellin Colombia and on our drive everything that could go wrong did. We changed 2 flats in the pouring rain, a tree knocked the bike rack off the top of Oscars car, and then we got into a pretty wild car accident. Everything worked out though and we made it to Medellin where there are tons of awesome spots and of course more crazy locals. We were even hearing stories of one rider who had just pulled a barspin to double whip on dirt a week before we came. wow. We made the best of our 2 days and had a blast riding and hanging out with all the locals. Thanks again to Juan Manual for letting us stay at his place and showing us around. Drew had been wanting to ride a spot during the day that we hit the night before. It was a weird metal rainbow that you had to downside grind and he wanted to go all the way around it. It was kinda wild because there was a festival going on in the park and there was a cop standing on the sculpture. One of our friends asked if the cop could move so we could film Drew for American tv. The cop moved to the side and asked to watch. We were stunned. After trying it for a bit some crazy homeless man decided he was going to direct the insane amount of people by blowing this whistle he had so Drew had a nice runway. Just imagine 200 people watching this blonde haired kid trying to grind this weird thing while a even crazier man blows his whistle and tells you where to stand. It was hilarious and the crowd got so into it. After about 2 hours (it was not an easy manuever at all) Drew finally went the whole way and the crowed started screaming and chanting all while bombarding him with hellos and high fives. It was seriously nuts because the people didnt even know bmx and I was psyched Drew stuck with it and he deserved some ice cream. We also just went to an incredible canyon where we just relaxed, fed ostriches, and took in the beautiful view at the Chicomocha national park. We have our last day in Colombia tomorrow so im sure its gonna be fun. more soon and enjoy the photos. -Brian

Friday Childs

Despite the internet rumors…Baby Childs is still rocking for DK. Here are some recent pics.

More Colombia!!!

Ridaz!!!! We have been enjoying our time here so much that when Oscar from community bmx asked us to stay longer and travel outside of Bogota we had to say yes. We are going to Medellin which from what we hear is beautiful and the spots are amazing. We are excited about that and getting to see what things look like out of the city. Drew and I went to a dirt jumping contest this weekend and didnt realize til the last minute that we were the judges! It was crazy though and the dudes here have moves for days. We saw some amazing riding and even the most proper cliff hangers ever. There was one rider who really stood out and was easily our favorite, smooth style, big moves, and really dialed. Frank Gonzales is sick. After the contest things got pretty out of hand with kids mobbing us for stickers and whatever else they could get their hands on. It was awesome though because everyone is so friendly. Drew managed to sneak in a couple runs so I tried to grab some pics. We also went to the top of this amazing mountain where theres a spot called Monserrate. It was quite the breath taking view. It overlooks all of Bogota and beyond. Im getting pretty good at riding llamas and unforntunately in Colombia they eat fried chicken with plastic gloves on. I wasnt afraid and showed them how we do it the good old USA and went gloveless. Sometimes you gotta take chances in life. haha til next time -Brian
